Esta fecha fue elegida para honrar la labor m\u00e9dica y coincide con la inauguraci\u00f3n de esta instituci\u00f3n, que es un antecedente de la actual Facultad de Medicina de la UNAM.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-luminous-vivid-orange-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-luminous-vivid-orange-background-color has-background is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Origen de la celebraci\u00f3n:<\/strong>&nbsp;La fecha fue instaurada en 1937, Esta fecha coincide con la creaci\u00f3n del Establecimiento de Ciencias M\u00e9dicas en 1833, actual Facultad de Medicina de la UNAM.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Dentro del Sistema Sanitario del pa\u00eds, las y los m\u00e9dicos tienen un papel destacado en la capacidad y respuesta de las instituciones p\u00fablicas de salud. Actualmente contamos con m\u00e1s de 225 mil m\u00e9dicos (hombres y mujeres) quienes, junto con las cerca de 312 mil enfermeras y dem\u00e1s profesionales de la salud, realizan m\u00e1s de un mill\u00f3n de atenciones m\u00e9dicas diarias: alrededor de 4 mil 300 nacimientos, cerca de un mill\u00f3n de consultas, casi 10 mil cirug\u00edas, m\u00e1s de 16 mil hospitalizaciones y cerca de 100 mil urgencias.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-jetpack-slideshow aligncenter\" data-effect=\"slide\"><div class=\"wp-block-jetpack-slideshow_container swiper-container\"><ul
